Barefoot length is critical to determining the correct snowboard size. This is the first thing that you will want to enter into this visualizer. If you are uncertain of this measurement, we have detailed video instructions here . Please rely only on your own barefoot measurements and do not rely on your current boot size or shoe size. Barefoot measurement alone will determine leverage over the snowboard's edge. Boot dimensions and binding dimensions have no bearing on leverage and should not be considered for this purpose. Please note that all general purpose snowboards from every manufacturer are designed to be riden with barefoot overhang. Having no barefoot overhang will severely reduce your leverage over your snowboards edges and limit control especially for newer riders.

Please use the sliders presented under board dimensions to enter all of the measurements of the snowboard that you are considering. Please note that adjusting waist alone is not sufficient. These measurements are readily available on every manufacturer website for every board model. Please note that the width measurement at each foot will be calculated based on all of your settings. This is the only width that should be considered when determining the correct snowboard width for any given foot length. Waist Width is not a factor in determining the correct width of any snowboard for your foot. This is a very common misconception. Waist Width is only valuable when viewed in combination with tip and tail witdth for information about the sidecut properties of a given board.

Please use this area to enter your individual stance angles for each foot, your stance, width, and your setback. We understand that new riders may not know these specifics. The default settings are commonly used at rental centers and by snowboard shops for setting up riders who have not yet developed a preference. You do not need to change these if you do not have any preferences developed yet.

We have provided three common foot shapes, which can be used to further refine your results. Please note that these will be nuance differences. The default Egyptian foot type is the most common and should be used by most riders.

This tool is for all general purpose boards. Tip and tail variations within standard purpose boards are very important but they will not dramatically change the stance values or posted width values that are the intent of this tool. For those boards, this will produce values that are within 1 mm of actual. This will cover roughly 93% of all snowboards sold worldwide. Accessory boards, such as powder specific, fish, super elongated nose, etc. will be beyond the scope of this tool. For most accessory boards, the intent changes dramatically and a board which is wider than the foot is long may be advantageous. Float in powder over carvability. Wide trenching boards (less than 1% of the market) where eliminating any potential toe contact by increasing overall width is also not well covered by this tool.
